What’s New
Starting November 15th our hospital will begin to provide emergency-on-call (EOC) services from 5-9pm weekdays and 8am-2pm on weekends and holidays. This will be for a trial period until December 31st, 2023.

Who Can Use The Service?
Phone calls will still be triaged through the SmartVet Telehealth platform so you will need to be an established client at our hospital in order to use the emergency service. Unfortunately, we presently do not have the resources to expand EOC services to the greater Grey Bruce community.

How Does It Work?

Monday – Friday 8am-5pm
Call our regular hospital number 519-376-PETS (7387) and you will be assisted by a member of our Client Care team.

Monday – Friday 5pm-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 8am-2pm
Call our emergency services number 226-780-6957 and if your pet needs to be seen by a veterinarian, the SmartVet team will transfer you to the Grey Bruce Pet Hospital doctor on-call. Note, this is outside of our regular operating hours so medical care will only be coordinated through the triage process. Please do not proceed to the hospital until you have received instruction.

Should your pet need to be transferred to an emergency service, SmartVet will arrange transfer to the facility most suitable to your pet’s expected level of care and provide you with further instructions.
